![]() It is possible that Apple will update the internals on the Mac Pro just before the end of this year or sometime in Q1 of next year. This and the fact that there is already support for newer graphics chips into El Capitan… is why I think that it was added for a new Mac Pro. The data is identical to that of the late 2015 (iMac17,1 in the same file) so it may as well be a remnant of the new iMac, but the strange thing is that the XHCI data for the late 2015 iMac is also there, which is why I believe that this is not/was not added for the/a new iMac but another Mac.Īnd like I said earlier in the comments, there are too many USB 3 ports defined to fit on a MacBook (Pro) and Mac Mini. The current Mac Pro carries the codename AAPPLJ950, which is what adds credence to the new codename being an updated version of the Mac Pro. However, if references to a new Mac codename “AAPLJ951” found in the latest version of OS X El Capitan are anything to go by, Apple is working on updating the internals of the Mac Pro to keep it up with times. ![]() However, since then, the company seems to have completely forgotten about the machine as it has not upgraded any of the components used inside it, including the processor and GPU. To the delight of professional video editors and graphic designers, Apple gave the Mac Pro a major design overhaul a couple of years ago.
